Country Chapel dell'Oriolo
As if protecting it from the fury of the wind, tall trees wrap themselves around the small but joyous chapel. The chapel, which is constructed in the classic style, is located in a beautiful amphitheater whose highest tiers are composed of beautiful, sloping rows of grapevines.
They call the Chapel dell'Oriolo but in older documents it is known as Sacellum Beatae Virginis ad Rivolum or the “Chapel of the Blessed Virgin By the River”. In the same document it is also known as the “Chapel of the Blessed Virgin of Grace,” a name that transcends time and speaks to all of humanity. Its origins lie shrouded in time; its structural stability, like that of human health, oscillates between stability and ruin. Since it was reconstructed in 1712 up until the present day, continuous research has been undertaken to restore it to such a state of glory that its beauty will soar over the breathtaking valley that lies before it.
